Mr. Crossman is a graduate of Dalhousie University, Bachelor of Commerce 1975 and 1976 with Honours is Accounting and Finance. Following university, Mr. Crossman was employed with a national firm of Chartered Accounts, and in 1979 earned the designation of CA. Work assignments involved preparation of client financial statements, audits, management consulting, and insolvency.
Industry experience includes financial and operational management is retail, service, wholesale and manufacturing sectors of the economy. These assignments ranged from computerizing multi-branched retailers to directing manufacturing operations, managing import and export activity and the senior financial office of a major retail organization. As a working associate and owner of Mergers and Acquisitions Canada Inc., he is involved daily in business valuations and assisting owners of privately-held businesses to transfer ownership.
In addition to the designation of Chartered Accountant, Mr. Crossman has been awarded the certification of a Certified Business Intermediary by the International Business Brokers Association. The Supreme Court of Nova Scotia has deemed Mr. Crossman an expert witness for the purposes of valuing privately-held companies. Mr. Crossman also lectures for the Nova Scotia Real Estate Association on topics related to financial management of privately-owned businesses.
Mr. Cochrane is a graduate of Acadia University with a degree in Business Administration. Majoring in Accounting with minors in International Business and Computer Science, his course of study was spent at Acadia and the University of Maine.
Mr.Jones graduated from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College, in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Honours). He was employed with a national CA firm and in 1990 he earned his designation as a Chartered Accountant and in 1998 he completed the Canadian Securities Course.
Upon graduation, he joined an international accounting firm where, in addition to obtaining a solid background in accounting, he gained several years experience in the area of insolvency and business reorganization.
Experience in industry is one of the major strengths Mr. Cochrane has to offer our clients. He has held executive positions in retail operations, investment sales, construction and manufacturing, property development and management, Internet technology development, and as a consultant. This "hands-on" experience affords him an appreciation of the concerns and needs of both buyers and sellers.
Outside of work, most of Dan's time is occupied by his family. His four kids do leave him some spare time, however, in which he coaches youth soccer, sits on the Board of Directors of a volunteer organization and occasionally even manages to go for a run.
Greg has a broad base of industry and entrepreneurial experience. He established and built a Chartered Accountancy practice with a partner in the Truro area, where he provided
accounting, audit, taxation, and business advisory services for a wide variety of corporate and personal clients. After seven successful years, the practice was sold to a regional CA firm.
Greg continues to keep busy with ownership interests in the physical fitness industry, retail fashion and business consulting. He also built and owns a
regulation size nine-hole golf course, scheduled to open in the spring of 2002. Greg spends his spare time with his wife and four children on their farm just outside of Truro.
Recognizing the need for facilitating buyers and sellers in central Nova Scotia, he joined M&A Canada in 2001.
